Man in Pontecagnano found with drugs and an illegal weapon: arrested

During targeted checks on individuals under house arrest, Carabinieri officers from the Pontecagnano Faiano station arrested a 34-year-old man and charged a 33-year-old man with illegal possession of a concealed weapon and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation into the status of those under house arrest.

During the operation, officers checked the 34-year-old and found crack cocaine weighing approximately 17,5 grams, divided into 36 doses, as well as approximately 6,2 grams of cocaine and approximately 9 grams of hashish. From this material, they seized €960, likely believed to be the proceeds of the crime, five precision scales, and other packaging materials. Furthermore, among the items seized, the Carabinieri found an unserialized 9mm pistol and 41 .380 caliber bullets.

On the balcony of the arrested man's bedroom, a 33-year-old man was found identified in possession of 39 doses of crack and cocaine, contained in a small bag hidden on his person.

The operation is part of a series of checks aimed at verifying compliance with alternative measures to detention and aims to ensure local security.
