San Nicola la Strada: 36-year-old arrested for crack cocaine during drug test

A local check carried out by the Carabinieri of the San Nicola la Strada station resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old man for illegal sale and possession of narcotics.

The operation took place yesterday evening, September 23, on Via Gentile. The suspect was caught selling a dose of crack to a buyer; during the investigation, additional drugs and cash believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity were found.

During the investigation, officers seized approximately 47 grams of crack cocaine, already divided into doses, along with €20 in cash. The total weight of the recovered drugs was 47 grams more than the gross weight of the drugs already identified at the time of the arrest.

The arrested man was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where he was placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The purchaser involved was identified and reported to the prefectural authorities as a suspected drug user.

The operation is part of the Carabinieri's territorial control efforts to prevent and combat drug dealing in the San Nicola la Strada area, through patrols and monitoring local dynamics.

The presumption of innocence remains in effect until a final sentence is reached, and the arrested person's position will be assessed by the judicial authorities in subsequent phases.
