Naples' "Calata Capodichino" nursery school has opened, offering 18 places for neighborhood children.

A new nursery for families in Calata Capodichino. The "Calata Capodichino" nursery, located in the "Giordano Bruno" building of the Villa Fleurent Comprehensive Institute, opened today. The facility will accommodate 18 children and is already fully booked.

The opening represents a significant development for the neighborhood, which until now had no such educational service. The inauguration was attended by Naples City Councilor for Education and Families, Maura Striano.

"The opening of the Giordano Bruno Nursery represents a significant achievement for the area because it offers a new and important educational service to children and their families in an area that until now had none," said Striano.

The project also has legal implications. The spaces intended for the children were previously occupied illegally and have been recovered, redeveloped, and returned to the community.

"But the significance of this inauguration goes far beyond the opening of a nursery: the spaces that now house the children were in fact occupied illegally. Reclaiming them, redeveloping them, and returning them to the community means concretely affirming the principles of legality, safety, and good governance," the councilor emphasized.

Reaching the reopening required a complex and timely process, involving the City Council, municipal offices, law enforcement, the local health authority, and other stakeholders. The process included restoring the facilities, renovating them, designing and implementing the interventions, obtaining permits, and organizing educational staff and support services.

Striano then thanked the organizations and individuals who supported the project, citing in particular Antonio De Iesu, Councilor for Municipal Police and Legal Affairs, the police force, the Housing Policy Office, and the technical offices, as well as the Municipality and the local councilors.

Recognition also went to Education Area Manager Barbara Trupiano for her rapid recruitment and staffing, including the support services entrusted to Napoli Servizi.

The new nursery school will therefore open with all spaces already assigned, offering a concrete response to family demand and transforming a previously unoccupied space into an educational service for the community.
