Theft reported from a nursery school construction site in Piedimonte Matese

Renovation work underway at a preschool in Piedimonte Matese was the subject of a theft. A local man, born in 1976 and already known to law enforcement, was reported at large by the Carabinieri of the Piedimonte Matese station, considered a serious suspect in the crime of aggravated theft.

The investigation stemmed from a complaint filed by a local construction contractor, who reported a haul of various materials from the construction site. Among the stolen items were electrical system components (industrial panels, copper cables, and extension cords), along with ten aluminum leveling rods and numerous work tools, including hammers, mallets, wheelbarrows, buckets, and other extension cords.

The investigation also found evidence from video surveillance footage installed in the area, allowing investigators to identify the perpetrator. During a house search, part of the stolen goods were recovered, including work tools and several aluminum staffs, which were returned to their rightful owners.

The residual financial damage amounts to approximately €5.000, corresponding to the unrecovered material. Following the investigation, the man was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere; the investigation is still in the preliminary stages, and liability will be determined with a final ruling.
