Naples opens its contemporary dance season: 10 shows at the Trianon Viviani.

Naples is preparing to host a contemporary dance festival that transforms the Trianon Viviani into a laboratory of body language. From Friday, September 25th to Tuesday, October 13th, the new edition of TrianonDanza features ten performances by seven local companies, focusing on movement as a tool for narrative and reflection on the present.

The opening performance features the debut of Samia, a work by Adriano Bolognino based on the true story of Samia Yusuf Omar, a Somali athlete who faced the challenges of migration to reach the Olympics. The choreography explores the fragility of a broken life and the injustice of freedom of choice still denied in many contexts. Six performers take the stage, with costumes by Rosaria Di Maro and music by Vito Pizzo. The production is by Körper | Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza, Rum for Dans, and Orsolina28, with the support of Italian and international public and cultural institutions.

The series continues on Saturday, September 26th, with Simone Liguori's "Stories of Paper," a dance-theater performance that interweaves references to texts such as "The Keepers of the Book" and the story of the Sarajevo Haggadah. The cast creates a reflection on written memory and freedom of speech, transforming the material of books into a stage act.

Sunday, September 27th features Keywords n° 19 or the Chance Method, a piece by Gabriella Stazio and produced by Movimento Danza and the Campania Region. On stage, boxes containing keywords guide actions, sounds, and stage dynamics in an unpredictable yet structured way, offering an ever-changing experience for audience and dancers.

The program continues on Friday, October 2nd with On the Road, the new chapter of Körper Young: two stages that demonstrate the versatility of gesture and the ability to listen to a constantly evolving stage space.

On Saturday, October 3rd, Fabrizio Varriale presents Cervus. Death and Spring, a body and voice monologue inspired by Vaslav Nijinsky's Diaries, intersecting movement and myth, accompanied by cellist Marco Di Palo.

Sunday, October 4th is the turn of Switched-on-Suites/reloaded by Dissonanzen, a show that reconfigures Bach's Cello Suites with a multimedia language and the dance of Alessandra Petitti, in dialogue with new technologies.

Pietas is scheduled for Friday, October 9th: a choreographic parable that interrogates the feeling of pity through three moments of human suffering inspired by Pasolini, narrated by a group of dancers and a set that includes original lighting, costumes, and music.

On Sunday 10 October, Akerusia danza presents MO·?ÀI·CO… Fragments of…, a mosaic of forms that explores waste as a language, with music by Julia Primicile Carafa, sets by Ciro Di Matteo and costumes by Leandro Fabbri.

On Monday, October 11, In to Reveal, produced by Arb Dance Company, invites audiences to reflect on the transition between generations: young performers engage with experienced dancers in a quest for ensemble, discipline, and shared language.

The festival concludes on Tuesday, October 13th with Danze ardenti, a project by Chiara Alborino that explores improvisation and choreographic creation through scenes inspired by major musical and literary references. The show features performances by students of Corpo Unico, lighting by Antonio Minichini, and choreography by Ester Palmieri.

All performances take place at 20:00 PM. The Trianon Viviani is supported by the Campania Region, the Metropolitan City of Naples, and the Ministry of Culture, with the patronage of Rai Campania.
