Sorrento, drugs hidden in a clutch bag: 39-year-old drug dealer arrested

Sorrento – He was already under house arrest, with permission to leave for work. But while traveling along the roads of the Sorrento Coast, he was stopped by the Carabinieri, resulting in another arrest.

The protagonist of the incident is a 39-year-old man from Sorrento, already known to the police, arrested by the soldiers of the Sorrento Company on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.

The car ends up under control

It was just after 8:00 a.m. when a Carabinieri patrol noticed a car with three people inside. Among them was the 39-year-old man, sitting in the back seat.

His behavior aroused the suspicions of the police, who decided to carry out a check. The car was stopped on the outskirts of Sorrento and the three occupants were made to get out.

It was at that moment that, according to the Carabinieri's reconstruction, the 39-year-old allegedly tried to get rid of a clutch bag, throwing it under the car in an attempt to prevent it from being found.

The gesture, however, doesn't go unnoticed by the police. The clutch bag is recovered and subjected to inspection.

Inside, the Carabinieri found a block of hashish weighing 94 grams, a second block of the same substance weighing 53 grams, 65 grams of marijuana, and a precision scale.

The search continued and led to the discovery of another 3 grams of hashish that the man allegedly had on him.

Even 340 euros in cash

During the operation, 340 euros in cash were also seized, a sum which, according to investigators, could be traced back to the illegal activity.

The 39-year-old was arrested on charges of drug possession with intent to sell. Following the formalities, he was taken to prison, where he is awaiting trial.
