No to Roggero's release pending pardon
Turin – The Turin Supervisory Court has rejected the request for a deferred sentence pending a pardon for Mario Roggero, the Cuneo jeweler sentenced to 14 years and nine months for killing two robbers and wounding a third. The Turin Supervisory Court rejected the request presented by his lawyer Stefano Marcolini. The jeweler is being held in prison in Bollate.
At the hearing on September 9th before the Turin supervisory court, the lawyer requested a deferral of the sentence pending the President of the Republic's decision on the pardon, and, alternatively, house arrest pending the President's decision. The Attorney General's Office denied the request.
A similar hearing will be held on September 16th before the Milan supervisory court.
