The two bombs seized in Acerra
When the Carabinieri officers entered his home, the man—a fifty-seven-year-old from Acerra—tried to remain calm, hoping that the checks would prove superficial.
A hope quickly dashed by the investigative flair and meticulousness of the Carabinieri of the Castello di Cisterna Group, who left no corner of the house unexplored. He was sent to prison, awaiting preliminary hearing before the Judge for Preliminary Investigations, where he will have to determine the origin of such an arsenal.
The material seized during the raid outlines the contours of a veritable clandestine arsenal. Inside the building, four pistols were found: two .38 Special caliber pistols (one with a stamped serial number to prevent traceability), a 9x21 caliber pistol, and a 7.65 caliber Beretta equipped with a laser pointer.
Particularly disturbing is the data on readiness for use: all the weapons had their magazines filled, for a total of 41 rounds ready to fire.
It wasn't just lead. Hidden within the home were also two homemade explosive devices weighing a total of one kilogram. A public hazard, they were defused thanks to the timely intervention of the Naples Provincial Command's bomb disposal squad, who will safely detonate them.
To complete the picture, the drug dealing chain: the military found and seized 35 grams of crack and 113 grams of hashish, already meticulously divided into doses ready to be released on the illicit market.
The case is now in the investigators' and forensic specialists' hands. The seized weapons will immediately undergo rigorous ballistic and fingerprint tests to determine whether they were used in recent incidents or ambushes in the Nola-Acerraia area.
