Naples - Water leaks in the corridors and some departments, forcing staff to intervene to contain the disruption. This is the report of Giuseppe Alviti, general secretary of the National Federation of Italian Workers (FNL Italia), who is calling on the competent authorities to assess the conditions at the Ospedale del Mare.
According to Alviti, on rainy days, cleaners and security guards are forced to use buckets and rags to deal with leaks. The union representative also points to what he calls a lack of internal signage and raises concerns about the facility's maintenance.
Alviti called for an immediate inspection, calling for checks to protect patients, doctors, and nurses. In his speech, he criticized the state of public healthcare in Campania, calling the conditions described "unacceptable" for a new-generation facility.
Reports and requests for inspection are currently being handled by the union representative. Verification by the competent authorities and the health authority will be necessary to determine the extent of the leaks and the condition of the building.
