Avellino adds another piece to the project for the new Partenio-Lombardi stadium. This morning, the City Council approved the design guidelines for the new sports facility in the Zoccolari district, which will replace the current structure with a modern, multipurpose stadium that meets UEFA Category 4 requirements.
The new facility must have a seating capacity of at least 22 and meet, where applicable, the technical and functional standards set by FIFA, UEFA, FIGC, and Lega Serie A. The goal is to provide the city with a facility suitable for national professional football and potentially capable of hosting international competitions and events.
The total value of the project is €72.736.850,49, including available funds and construction costs. Financing is expected to be entirely through regional funds, currently being finalized and finalized. The Campania Region has expressed its willingness to allocate the necessary resources for the project's completion.
The project will also focus on environmental, economic, functional, and energy sustainability, as well as the facility's full accessibility and usability. Sustainable management is also envisaged throughout the facility's entire life cycle.
The final characteristics of the project will be defined in the subsequent design phases, when the dimensional, architectural, structural, plant and technological aspects of the new Partenio will be established in detail.
Approval of the document also entails updating the Three-Year Public Works Plan 2026-2028, with the inclusion of the project in the 2026 financial year. Once the financial framework has been finalized, the Project Manager, identified as Luigi Maria Cicalese, Director of the Public Works Department, will initiate the necessary procedures for drafting the technical and economic feasibility study. Subsequently, the additional administrative phases will proceed, from the publication of the tender notice to the implementation of the project.
The new Partenio is thus preparing to become a strategic project for the city: a facility with a capacity of at least 22 spectators, designed not only for Avellino matches but also for international football events.
