Brawl after Agerola-Ebolitana match: Eight fans investigated

During the morning, officers from the Carabinieri stations in Agerola and Sant'Antonio Abate executed a precautionary measure order issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Torre Annunziata Court, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The measure concerns eight people under investigation for aggravated brawl, illegal possession of offensive objects in a public place, aggravated damage, violation of the DASPO (Daspo) (Order for Public Orders), and violation of Article 6-bis of Law 401/1989.
One of the suspects was placed under house arrest. The other seven were ordered to remain in their municipality of residence and to report periodically to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The clashes after the match

According to the investigation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office and carried out by the Carabinieri, the incident arose after the football match between Agerola and Ebolitana, valid for the Eccellenza championship and played on September 28, 2025. Immediately after the end of the match, a violent brawl broke out between members of the two fan bases.

The investigation was based on the analysis of numerous private video surveillance systems in the area, the collection of preliminary information, and subsequent on-site checks. The overall findings, according to the prosecution, revealed serious evidence of guilt against the eight suspects.

Sticks on board the car

During the clashes, some ultras fans of the Sant'Antonio Abate team allegedly carried numerous wooden sticks in a car, which they then gave to their accomplices to arm themselves. Other Ebolitana supporters allegedly threw rocks and sticks at the opposing team's vehicles, hitting the car and shattering its rear windshield.

According to the investigation, one of the Ebolitana fans also allegedly used his belt as a blunt object against some opponents. In the same context, a suspect under a four-year ban from being held in custody allegedly violated the authorities' orders by visiting areas where fans gather and pass through.

Confirmations of the searches

The circumstantial evidence was further corroborated by house searches conducted by the military. Clothing used during the clashes was found at the home of one of the suspects.

The verification of the accident report filed with the rental company of the vehicle involved also played a significant role. The suspect attempted to explain away the damage to the rear window by attributing it to an accidental impact with a protruding metal object. This version, according to investigators, turned out to be false and helped confirm the driver's identification.

The proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation phase. The precautionary measure implemented may be appealed before the Court of Review. Those subject to the measures cannot be considered guilty until a final conviction has been issued, in accordance with the constitutional principle of the presumption of innocence.
