Francesca Tucci
Naples – Controversy has erupted over the expert report submitted as part of the investigation into the death of Francesca Tucci, the 24-year-old who died on July 2nd at the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples after surgery.
Lawyer Gabriele Di Criscio, representing surgeon Felice Pirozzi, intervened in a statement, calling the assertion that the report by the consultants appointed by the Prosecutor's Office was not "a technical assessment but a conclusion seeking arguments" "surreal."
Di Criscio specifically takes issue with what he considers a change of heart regarding the experts appointed by the prosecutor. According to the lawyer, in an interview last July, the consultants were described as "extremely high-profile." Now, after the filing of disputed conclusions, the family's defense has announced a request for a new investigation, entrusted to a different panel.
The reference is to the criticism of the Tucci family's lawyer, who expressed doubts about the expert's conclusions and announced a request to the Naples Prosecutor's Office for a new technical assessment. The request, reportedly, would be to assign the task to a different panel.
The case concerns the determination of the circumstances surrounding the young woman's death. The assessments contained in the expert report and the parties' disputes remain at the heart of the legal debate; any liability will need to be determined by the appropriate authorities.
