Francesca Tucci's family has announced a new technical investigation, entrusted to a different panel, challenging the report submitted by the consultants appointed by the Naples Prosecutor's Office.

Naples – The case involving Francesca Tucci, 24, at the center of a medical-dialectical proceeding following her death on July 2nd at Cardarelli Hospital, is preparing for a new chapter. The family has reportedly requested a new evidentiary hearing, entrusted to a different panel of experts, to obtain a clearer technical picture of the circumstances surrounding the operation and its aftermath.
The family's lawyers have spoken out: Francesco Petruzzi, the attorney, stated that the report submitted by the experts appointed by the Naples Prosecutor's Office does not constitute a true technical assessment, but rather an evaluation seeking arguments to support the thesis established by the investigation. The attorney announced that he will submit a request to the Naples investigating office requesting the appointment of a new panel of experts, with a different composition.
According to Petruzzi, the report provides no clear answers to the questions posed by the prosecutor—such as whether the signs of a complication were recognized in time and whether the death could have been prevented. "The report provides incomplete answers to fundamental questions: sometimes it devotes only a single line to certain points, other times it defers or leaves entire sections blank. In some parts, it even contradicts the relevant medical documents," the lawyer summarized.
According to the family, the report is inconsistent and, by stating one thing and then denying it shortly thereafter, ends up proposing an interpretation of the medical records that isn't supported by the evidence. Petruzzi emphasized that a report with such inconsistencies cannot be the basis for deciding whether or not to initiate proceedings regarding the death of a 24-year-old woman.
The family's request therefore seeks a new technical assessment, entrusted to a different panel of experts, with the goal of clarifying whether and to what extent the clinical signs of the complication were diagnosed promptly and whether the death could have been avoided.
