The Naples Metropolitan Police have seized a cod and stockfish processing business that lacked a permit for wastewater discharge, highlighting irregularities in the wastewater.

Environment under surveillance: fish processing plant seized in Mugnano di Napoli due to irregularities in waste disposal.
The Naples Metropolitan Police, Environmental Section, seized a fish processing plant located in Mugnano di Napoli, on Via Aldo Moro. The facility, occupying approximately 400 square meters, did not have the necessary permit to discharge processing wastewater.
According to the inspections carried out, the plant processed cod and stockfish; during the processing cycle, the cod was immersed in trays filled with water, with periodic changes.
The waste water was conveyed, through a grate and manholes present in the premises, directly into the public sewer system, without the necessary authorization, in violation of the Consolidated Environmental Act (Legislative Decree 152/2006).
The operation is part of the controls aimed at protecting the environment and combating practices that do not comply with current regulations.
