A 42-year-old man has been arrested following a theft at a restaurant in the center of San Cipriano d'Aversa. The Carabinieri intervened on the evening of Sunday, October 11, following a report to the emergency number 112.
Officers from the Mobile Radio Unit responded to a business on Corso Umberto I, where work equipment worth an estimated €1.080 had been reported stolen. According to the reconstruction, the incident occurred shortly before, during a temporary closure of the business.
The investigations, which also included analysis of images from the restaurant's video surveillance system, allowed the Carabinieri of the local station to identify the alleged perpetrator of the theft.
Subsequent searches led to the tracking down of the 42-year-old on Corso Umberto I. The man was still wearing clothes believed to be compatible with those captured by the cameras, a circumstance that contributed to the military's investigations.
After the investigation, the man was arrested on charges of aggravated theft. By order of the judicial authorities, who were informed of the facts, he was held in holding cells pending a summary trial.
The proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation phase. The suspect is therefore presumed innocent until a final conviction is issued.
