First the theft from a parked car, then the reaction against the security guard who discovered it, and finally the damage to the police car. A 22-year-old with a police record was arrested in Naples on charges of improper robbery and damage to public property.
The intervention began at the Brin parking lot on Via Benedetto Brin, following a report to the Operations Room. Officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, conducting checks in the area, quickly reached the indicated location and intercepted the young man as he attempted to flee.
During the check, the 22-year-old was found in possession of a cell phone. Shortly thereafter, a security guard told officers that he had caught him inside a parked vehicle trying to steal the phone. Once discovered, the young man allegedly reacted by throwing a fire extinguisher at the man.
The situation further escalated after the stop. Once he was placed in the patrol car, the 22-year-old allegedly began to rampage, kicking and punching the window and damaging it. After the intervention, the young man was arrested by officers. The stolen cell phone was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
