Marcianise – In an area marked by the environmental challenges of the Land of Fires, there are businesses focusing on innovation to reduce their impact. This is the case of Fusionmet, a company specializing in the production of aluminum ingots for the industrial sector and the marketing of metals in Italy and Europe.
The company already has a 325 kW photovoltaic system and two Tesla charging stations for employees. According to company estimates, the contribution of the operational system is comparable to the CO₂ absorption of approximately 5.000 trees in a year and the emissions of approximately 70 cars removed from the road.
Building on this foundation, Fusionmet intends to take a further step forward in 2026 with a project submitted within the Special Economic Zone (SEZ). It includes new photovoltaic systems, energy storage systems, and a machine for separating aluminum alloys. The project, developed by engineers, aims to integrate renewable energy production with innovative processing technologies, reducing energy dependence and containing costs.
The new interventions should further improve environmental performance, with an estimated reduction in CO₂ emissions of approximately 110 tons per year. This forecast refers to the planned interventions, the actual benefits of which will depend on the construction and final configuration of the facilities.
"At this historic moment, investing in renewable energy is crucial to avoid being tied to the constant market fluctuations linked to global geopolitics. Reducing energy dependence means ensuring greater stability for businesses and investing in the future," emphasizes Giovanni Ciaramella, owner of Fusionmet and regional head of the Economics Department of Forza Italia Campania.
The goal is to continue along a path that combines industrial competitiveness and environmental protection, in a particularly sensitive area like the Land of Fires.
A vision that, for Ciaramella, doesn't stop at the company gates. In Portici, where he lives, he continues to listen and engage with residents, gathering needs and identifying concrete proposals.
Among the topics that emerged was that of local healthcare, with the proposal to establish a pediatric and neonatal first aid center to address the difficulties faced by families in emergencies. Ciaramella announced his intention to submit a request to the relevant authorities to evaluate its feasibility.
The focus on the environment and energy efficiency is thus part of a broader vision of sustainable development, which also encompasses urban spaces, services, and opportunities for residents. For the entrepreneur, the challenge is to combine innovation, economic growth, and social responsibility, helping to build a more modern Portici that is more responsive to the needs of families.
