Naples: Students once again camp out to fight high rents at Federico II University.

Tents are returning to Naples' universities to protest rising rents. Students have set up a new encampment in the courtyard of the Porta di Massa campus of Federico II University, as part of the nationwide mobilization promoted by the Self-Organized University Collectives.

The protest focuses on the cost of housing for out-of-town students and, according to its initiators, the progressive privatization of student residences. The protest, which involves several Italian cities, has brought tents back to the university grounds in Naples.

The initiative was accompanied by a flash mob organized in six cities, including the Campania capital. Overnight, posters depicting Mr. Monopoly appeared in front of several private student residences, accompanied by the slogan: "Let's evict the super-rich: to defend our neighborhoods, to defend our right to education."

This morning, students set up a new protest camp inside the Porta di Massa university campus, relaunching a protest focused on the right to housing and access to education for those arriving in Naples from other cities.

The protest is part of the national mobilization launched by the Self-Organized University Collectives against the rising burden of rent and the difficulties faced by out-of-town students in finding affordable housing.

In Naples, protests have returned to university campuses, with tents becoming symbols of protests against rent and housing costs for the student population.
