The prefect of Naples
Three new anti-mafia bans in the Naples area. The prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, recently issued three new measures against companies in the metropolitan city, as part of a strategy to enforce legality and protect the healthy economic fabric.
The measures are the result of an investigation by the Joint Anti-Mafia Group operating in the Prefecture. The examination sought evidence of organized crime's permeability or influence within corporate structures and financial flows. The affected companies have their registered offices between Naples and Torre Annunziata.
The sectors are diverse, a sign, the Prefecture writes, of the clans' transversal interests: rental, sale, and management of real estate; retail trade in fish products; textiles, clothing, footwear, jewelry, and furniture.
The intervention is part of the coordination between the Prefecture, the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, and the police force. Monitoring of corporate structures in the province, the statement concludes, remains high, to keep public spending, contracts, and licenses out of the reach of criminals.
