The investigating judge of Naples Nicoletta Campanaro (33rd section) has ordered the precautionary measure of prison against the twenty-year-olds Vincenzo Sammarco and Giovanni Grasso, who in recent days were detained by the Naples Prosecutor's Office (pm Antonella Fratello, Enrica Parascandolo and Urbano Mozzillo) on charges of being the two responsible for the raid with gunshots (at least 4) fired against the Pastrengo barracks in Naples in the early hours of March 15st. The "stesa" against the provincial command of the Carabinieri of Naples occurred a few hours after the death of the XNUMX-year-old Hugh Russo, cousin of Grasso, hit and killed by gunshots fired by a 23 year old carabiniere, in the Santa Lucia area of Naples, whose watch Russo wanted to rob, together with a 17 year old who is now detained in a reception center for minors.
The two are accused of aiding and abetting carrying and possession of a firearm in a public place and private violence. The mafia aggravation is also contested by investigators. The decision comes after the preliminary hearing of the two young men, assisted, respectively, by lawyers Francesco Esposito and Tiziana De Masi, held via video conference from the Naples prison of Secondigliano. The two young men asked and obtained from the investigating judge to be able to make spontaneous statements during which they admitted their responsibilities. The raid, they reported, was the result of anger matured over Ugo's death. No statement was made regarding how the two came into possession of the gun. The investigating judge did not apply the precautionary measure for the crime, also contested by investigators, of private violence.
