The eleventh train undergoing revamping operations entrusted to the TitagarhFirema company of Caserta entered into service today on the Circumvesuviana lines.
The press office of the Ente Autonomo Volturno announced this in a note, stating that the remaining fourteen trains will be gradually completed and put into service during 2021. "The revamping - Eav underlines - involved operations aimed primarily at raising the levels of comfort and security. The trains have in fact been equipped with modern air conditioning systems with the introduction of double-glazed windows that also allow for a reduction in energy consumption, new video surveillance systems, security intercoms available to travellers, and new passenger doors".
"We are still waiting - concludes the press release issued by the Autonomous Body Volturno - to know the decision of the Council of State on the tender for the forty new trains for the Circumvesuviana. The judges met in chambers on December 10, 2020 and we are waiting to know the ruling. Commuters are interested in having the trains, they are not interested in knowing whether Hitachi or Stadler will manufacture them. The dispute has been going on for over a year".
