Qualiano . The arrest of Marco Bevilacqua, the 37-year-old accused of firing the shots that injured four young people last Saturday outside a bar in Qualiano , in the province of Naples, has been validated. One of the injured young people, an 18-year-old, remains hospitalized in serious condition and is believed to be in danger of dying. This morning, a preliminary hearing was held to validate the arrest before Vera Iaselli, the investigating judge of the Naples North Court, who will issue an order by tomorrow morning.
Bevilacqua, assisted by the lawyer Nunzio Mallardo, has been in the Naples prison of Poggioreale since last Sunday, when he was subjected to an arrest warrant issued by the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North for attempted multiple homicide, possession of a common firearm and aggravated robbery.
The Carabinieri of the Giugliano operational unit and the Qualiano station managed to identify him in a few hours by analyzing the images recorded by the video surveillance systems present in the area where the events occurred and by interviewing several eyewitnesses.
Bevilacqua was found at dawn in his parents' house in Giugliano in Campania (Naples), where he had been hiding; a short distance from the house, in a rubbish bin, some clothes he was wearing when the gunshots were fired were found, as well as the knife that had been used shortly before to steal a gun from a security guard.
