“So, happy birthday” – the show that closes the “Ouverture” review, curated by Artenauta Teatro, with the artistic direction of Simona Tortora, which includes four appointments on May 28 and 29 and June 4 and 5 for three performances each (18.00 pm – 19.30 pm – 21.00 pm).
There is great anticipation for “So, happy birthday”, which will see the Artenauta Teatro company on stage at the Teatro Comunale Diana in Nocera Inferiore, directed and written by Simona Tortora, with assistant director Luigi Fortino, music by Simone Palumbo, and organization by Giuseppe Citarella.
A special show, which foresees the presence of a maximum of 50 spectators per performance. The play has all the numbers to amaze: 25 unpublished texts, 42 actors on stage, 4 shows and 3 performances per evening.
"Theater is an act of faith. A year and a half ago we began our laboratory journey, aware that the pandemic had blocked us, scared of contact, of relationships“, explains Simona Tortora.
"How do you do a theater course without contact? We looked for other ways, we created them. The body was the great absentee, we had to be distant. Theater teaches you to jump the obstacle, to overcome your limits. My proposal started: let's write about the body, about the great absentee, its/ours, despite itself. Over time, the writing has become more refined. Let's write about a part of the body. If a part of the body could talk to us, had a voice and above all our listening, what would it tell us about us? Everyone chose their part and gave it a voice. Each part of the body told us a story, from its point of view.
Creating a show from the beginning is an act of trust that the actors/students place in their director, because there will be long periods where visions and uncertainties will be chased and only if there is a loving correspondence between the parties can obstacles be overcome and jumped, in some cases it is flying high, very high and seeing a beautiful panorama and retracing all the moments that brought us to the top of our mountain and enjoying the view.
'So, happy birthday' is celebrating the constant rebirth that our body, we, experience after a long absence. Stories when delivered to the theater are never of those who wrote them but of anyone we can see ourselves in. We are waiting for you to celebrate the birthday of everyone present!".
