Vico Equense. The driver of the truck that hit and killed 53-year-old Ausilia Apuzzo this morning in Sant'Agnello is under investigation for road homicide.
The woman who lived with her mother in the Patierno hamlet of Vico Equense she worked in a cleaning company in Sorrento. This morning before arriving at work she stopped and crossed the street on Corso Italia near the church of Santi Prisco e Agnello perhaps to go to the pharmacy.
An articulated lorry hit her without her even realising it. It was the screams of passers-by that alerted him. The man was questioned by the police and subjected to alcohol and drug tests. His vehicle and his body were seized. He was charged with road homicide.
A touching remembrance on Facebook by a friend of the victim: “Dear Ausilia… Today she made me do something I never wanted to have to do. Tell Mom what happened… I know how much she cares about you, you didn’t see each other often but the bond was solid, you went through a lot together… I had to find a way even if in these cases unfortunately there isn’t one… And I saw her turn to stone, and explode inside, we gave her a hard blow… A kiss in the wind wherever you’re going… I hope for a better place than here”.
