She drugged and robbed men, investigation closed on the 'mantis of Brianza'. Tiziana Morandi pretended to be terminally ill: she robbed about ten men
In order to set a trap for her victims, the Mantis of Brianza even pretended to be terminally ill.
Among the documents seized from Tiziana Morandi, the 47-year-old accused of drugging and then robbing a dozen men between the ages of 27 and 84, nicknamed by the news as the 'mantis of Brianza', there was also a false medical certificate attesting to an incurable condition. The prosecutor of the Monza Public Prosecutor's Office Carlo Cinque has now signed the conclusion of the investigation against the woman living in Roncello, arrested in July by the Carabinieri.
To explain to investigators the possession of the certificate, as reported by Il Giorno, the woman said that she needed it to get rid of some creditors who were breathing down her neck for a loan not fully repaid by her father due to his death. And it would not be the only pretense she would have used to 'trick' the men. The various techniques used varied, according to the prosecution, based on age.
With the elderly, she invented fundraisers to treat sick children, she narcotized them with benzodiazepine, a powerful tranquilizer obtained with fake recipes in drinks that she herself prepared. And she robbed them of money and gold jewelry. The younger ones were attracted on social media, she met them at their homes or went out for a pizza.
On Facebook, the 47-year-old allegedly also lured a 71-year-old from Avellino, who confided in her that he wanted to sell a collection of gold coins. She generously offered to help him and, when they met in Turin, she allegedly drugged him and then abandoned him at the station empty-handed.
