Friday 21st, the Teatro della Canzone napoletana hosts the tribute to the artist/scugnizzo of Forcella with many guests. Saturday 22nd, the recital of the singer of “Abbracciame”.
“The elegant urchin. Homage to Antonio Sorrentino” – Friday 28 October, at 21pm, the Teatro della Canzone napoletana hosts an evening of honour dedicated to the artist/scugnizzo from Forcella.
Twenty-four years after his premature death, the memory of Antonio is still alive. Born in collaboration with the Rinascita di Forcella committee, this evening does not want to commemorate the "elegant Scugnizzo", but to remember him, as the protagonist, in a real show, right in the theater of his neighborhood, starting with his two unpublished, recently rediscovered.
Hosted by Tiziana De Giacomo, the evening will feature contributions from many colleagues and friends who will talk about Antonio and perform songs from his repertoire, with the counterpoint of video projections that will retrace the salient phases of his intense yet brief career. Participants will include Romeo Barbaro, Angelo Di Gennaro, Tony Faiello, Mario Maglione, Francesca Marini, Massimo Masiello, Ciccio Merolla, Antonella Morea, Paese mio bello (the ensemble formed by Lello Giulivo, Gianni Lamagna, Anna Spagnuolo and Patrizia Spinosi, with Michele Bonè and Paolo Propoli), Ida Rendano, Gino Rivieccio, Brunella Selo, Maddalena Sorrentino and Marco Zurzolo, with Sal Esposito, Giovanni Pelella and the Allerija. Renato Marengo and Gino Aveta will perform. The Sud in sound orchestra will be conducted by Aniello Misto and Gennaro Franco.
The evening's poster, organized by Jesce sole, is completed by the artistic direction of Peppe Ponti, the direction of Pino Sondelli and the general supervision of Claudio Niola. The television production is curated by Sud promotion of Maurizio Palumbo. The illustration is by Petra Scognamiglio.
Andrea Sannino in “Andrè” – Saturday 29 October, at 21pm, after the success in the previous season with Carosone, the American Napoli, Andrea Sannino returns to the theatre of Neapolitan song with a new acoustic concert, produced by Malfi music.
"My parents and friends in the neighborhood familiarly call me 'Andrè' –explains Sannino himself –: and this name has become part of my DNA, becoming a sound that has always accompanied me. I grew up in Ercolano, in the province of Naples, in a wonderful land where sounds and language are everyday music”.
“My music draws from my roots – continues Andrè – and my being Neapolitan becomes one with being myself, so much so that I chose this familiar nickname of mine to call this recital of mine”.
The show, written by Sannino himself, is a passionate and exciting journey into the artist's personal musical life, who, despite his many performances in television programs, for national networks, remains strongly tied to his alleys, to the simple things of everyday life, to the eternal repertoire, made of grimaces and gestures, of ordinary people. Here is a musical lineup in which are inserted, for the first time, many songs of Neapolitan music, classic and contemporary, rearranged in the flavors and sounds of today, or great successes of international music re-proposed in the Neapolitan mother tongue.
