They dress up a child as Matteo Messina Denaro for Carnival and post videos on social media

The arrest of Matteo Messina Denaro has caused an earthquake that shows no signs of stopping. The boss seems to have launched a trend that is nothing short of disturbing, in fact many people have been caught wearing the same clothes he was wearing at the time of his arrest. Some shopkeepers have even started selling “Matteo Messina Denaro style” clothing.

A pseudo prank in bad taste that is now involving children during Carnival. Francesco Emilio Borrelli, a deputy of the Green-Sinister alliance, published a shocking video on his Facebook page, where a child is shown wearing the same outfit as the boss when he was arrested.

Borrelli himself reported a rather disturbing trend, with many people choosing to dress like the boss of bosses: leather jacket, hat and teardrop Ray-Ban sunglasses, boasting of resembling the boss.

In this new video, a child, dressed as a mobster, is seen walking “escorted” by two adults wearing sheepskin, brown pants and sunglasses, with the voice of the journalist in the background announcing the arrest of the boss. One of the adults also has a presumably fake gun that he waves in front of the video.

There was no shortage of comments, with many users calling what they saw insane, writing disheartenedly that it had reached absolute degradation. "The Mafia is not a prank," explain MP Borrelli and radio host Gianni Simioli, who are leading a campaign to dissuade citizens from dressing their children up as the bloodthirsty boss for Carnival. "There are people who have suffered, even murdered children.

Praising these criminals means mythologizing them. Why don’t these families dress their children like Falcone and Borsellino or like Giancarlo Siani? Why do they always exalt the bosses and never the victims and heroes?”.
