Moments of tension in Barra where 55-year-old Salvatore Cuccaro, son of the deceased boss Raffaele, was arrested after first stealing a car and then wounding a police officer with a knife.
They were the Hawks of the Flying Squad of Napoli to handcuff him. Yesterday during a service to combat predatory crimes, on the orders of the Operations Center, they intervened in via Pasquale Ciccarelli for a report of a car robbery.
The police officers, who arrived on the scene, contacted the owner of the car who said that, shortly before, he had been approached by a man who had taken possession of his car by threatening him with a knife.
The operators, thanks to the descriptions provided and the GPS system present on the vehicle, tracked the car in a lay-by near the Fuorigrotta exit of the ring road with a man on board who, at the sight of them, attempted to put the car into gear to evade the control but was stopped.
At that moment, he grabbed a knife hidden under the seat of the car and grazed one of the officers until he was disarmed and, after a struggle, blocked.
Salvatore Cuccaro was arrested for robbery, assault and resisting a public official; finally, the car was returned to the owner. His last arrest dates back to 2021 when the carabinieri found in his cellar a Barra a sawn-off shotgun and some cartridges
