Cameras pointed at the Pompeii nightlife. The Ministry of the Interior has approved with flying colors the video surveillance project presented by the Municipality of Pompei financing it with 150 thousand euros, the highest amount among the participating municipalities.
The “Pon Legalità” project – as stated in a note from the Municipality – includes the installation of “intelligent” monitoring devices, such as video cameras and sensors aimed at increasing the safety standards of the center and the suburbs.
The new video surveillance service will also have its “eyes open” to monitor the environment, prevent and repress the “wild bag”, a phenomenon active especially in peripheral areas.
“Also in this case, as with the PNRR – the note continues – the city of Pompeii has distinguished itself by reaching first place in the projects financed with government funds. These brilliant results are obtained thanks to the preparation and commitment of the entire administrative team and managers.
The new video surveillance system will support the praiseworthy work of the police, carabinieri and municipal police who, thanks to their constant commitment, manage to make Pompeii a city with a very high safety standard".
