The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, on the occasion of the summer season, has ordered a strengthening of the device for the prevention and contrast of phenomena of economic and financial illegality, in particular in locations with a high tourist vocation.

The intensification of activities concerned the fight against illegal commercial activity, tax evasion phenomena also linked to holiday homes, “undeclared work”, counterfeiting, the sale of unsafe products and drug trafficking, as well as the verification of the regulation of fuel prices for consumers.
In particular, in the last two months, in the Phlegraean area alone (Pozzuoli – Baia – Lake Averno – Archaeological Park of Cuma – Lake Fusaro):
– in the “undeclared work” sector, 15 undeclared workers were identified, including 2 minors, with 4 employers charged with approximately €220.000 in administrative sanctions, with related reports to the Territorial Labor Inspectorate, for the adoption of measures suspending the activity;
– interventions were carried out – within the scope of checks on “second homes” and properties intended for rental – which allowed the discovery of undeclared land income by lessors of over €30.000, in addition to violations of registration tax;

– in the matter of controls on the submerged business of companies, military personnel from the Baia Tenenza, with the support of patrols from the Giugliano in Campania Group, seized, on the coast of Marina Grande di Bacoli, 36 sunbeds and 6 deck chairs used by a person who occupied a maritime state-owned area illegally carrying out rental activities of the aforementioned equipment, without any type of authorization or concession. The person responsible was consequently reported to the Judicial Authority;
– with the help of the Corps' canine units, anti-drug checks were carried out, especially at the main entertainment venues, which allowed for the seizure of approximately 900 grams of psychotropic substances from 6 individuals, 2 of whom were arrested;
– within the scope of the controls on the regulation of consumer fuel prices, administrative sanctions were imposed on two fuel distributors;
– numerous violations were found regarding the correct issuing of tax documents by commercial establishments appropriately selected on the basis of specific risk alerts, as well as multiple violations of the Highway Code;
– 2 illegal parking attendants were fined, one of whom was a recipient of citizen's income;
– to protect consumers, approximately 200 counterfeit products and approximately 22.000 unsafe ones (mainly toys) were seized, with 7 responsible parties reported, two of whom were reported to the AG.
The aforementioned proximity activities, in carrying out the functions of economic control of the Neapolitan territory and contributing to the maintenance of public order and safety, will continue in the coming weeks.
