Moments of tension and fear in a supermarket in Vico Equense where a man in the throes of a fit of madness due to drug withdrawal threatened his brother with a pickaxe.
In the end he was arrested thanks to the prompt intervention of the carabinieri called by some frightened customers. But the 37-year-old also had a moment of lucidity to make some regularly paid purchases.
A 37-year-old local man already known to the police wants and demands money – probably driven by an incessant desire for drugs – and his target, this time, is his 42-year-old brother.
He looks for him and finally finds him: the victim has taken refuge in a mini market on Via Bosco. The 37-year-old is armed, with a pickaxe in his hands.
The man enters the store and, regardless of the presence of customers and the owner, threatens his brother. He demands that he hand over his smartphone and also asks for the pin to unlock it.
The robbery lasts a few minutes but the tension is very high. The 37-year-old, however, takes advantage of it and before leaving he also does some shopping, just two beers and a piece of bread that he pays for regularly.
After finishing his shopping, the 37-year-old – with a pickaxe, smartphone and shopping bag – leaves the market but the alert to 112 has already been sent. The local station's Gazelle intervenes and finds the 37-year-old near the store.
The man is stopped and arrested, he must answer for robbery and illegal possession of tools capable of causing harm. The pickaxe was seized while the smartphone was returned to its rightful owner
