Benevento Calcio president Oreste Vigorito firmly addressed allegations regarding a soccer betting investigation, stating that the club's dignity remains intact despite the speculation. In a meeting at the Confindustria headquarters in Benevento, Vigorito answered questions from journalists after the federal prosecutor's office closed the investigation.

He stressed that the club may lose championships, but the dignity of its members will never be compromised. He also criticized the idea of ​​“objective liability,” calling it an absurd regulation that was also changed thanks to the Benevento case a few years ago. He insisted on the fundamental principle of the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

Vigorito made it clear that the club will wait before making any definitive judgments on the current situation, and stressed that they would only understand the gravity of the situation if concrete convictions were to arrive. He admitted that, in that case, it would be painful to realize that they had not picked up on certain signals in the previous two years.
