Naples – A press conference convened by AIOP Campania, the Italian Association of Private Hospitals and the leading trade association for hospitals accredited by the National Health Service, is scheduled for Monday, September 21st, at 12:00 p.m., at the headquarters at Riviera di Chiaia 105 in Naples. The meeting will focus on the dispute involving accredited nursing homes and the previously announced suspension of scheduled hospital admissions.
For over a year, the facilities have been without a contract; furthermore, for nine months, they have been operating without a defined budget. Therefore, no agreement establishes the quantity and remuneration of services provided on behalf of the Regional Health Service. To date, only advance payments have been made based on the 2025 spending cap, which has remained unchanged from the 2024 budget.
"Accredited private hospitals are forced to navigate by sight," explains the president of AIOP Campania, "without knowing which services will actually be recognized and paid for. Under these conditions, it's impossible to plan operations and ensure the sustainability of services, as they're paid, among other things, with rates that are 14 years old and have been reduced by 10%, with potential repercussions on essential levels of care."
The announced suspension will not affect emergency services, which will continue to be provided. During the meeting, Aiop Campania will explain the reasons for the protest and demand immediate responses from the Region regarding contracts, budgets, rates, and payments for services already provided, to ensure continuity of care for citizens.
