The 19-year-old killed in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio was called Santo Romano

His name was Santo Romano, he was originally from Volla even though he was born in Acerra, the 19-year-old killed by gunshots last night shortly after midnight in Piazza Raffaele Capasso in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio at the height of a fight between groups of youths.

He was a young footballer of Asd Micri, a team that participates in the Eccellenza championship in Campania. He was the starting goalkeeper of the team.

A single bullet hit him in the chest and despite the timely intervention of the rescuers he died at the Ospedale del Mare in Naples, where he was transported. The doctors did everything they could to save him from death.

“I can't believe this happened to Santo ,” said a longtime friend, his voice shaking. “He was a golden boy, full of life.”

Another young man, Salvatore Spagnoli, also nineteen, was injured in the elbow. His conditions, fortunately, are not worrying. Both were in the square to spend an evening with friends.
