Naples: 380 kilograms of poorly preserved food seized
Naples – Carabinieri carried out checks at a bakery on Via Funicelle, inspected together with local health authority staff.
Serious hygiene and sanitation deficiencies were found within the laboratory. The inspections also highlighted the failure to implement self-monitoring procedures regarding food shelf life.
For this reason, 380 kilos of food products were seized. During the inspection, the presence of an illegal worker was also discovered.
The business owner was fined €9 and ordered to suspend his business.
Not only were there health and safety violations and workplace violations. The bakery's owner, a 56-year-old, was also reported for illegal construction: the shop was found to lack any building permit.
