The inauguration of the exhibition “Talking Woods” in memory of the sculptor Amodio DeMartino.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Association “I Cantori di San Lorenzo”, will begin on Saturday 22 February at 17:00.Sculptures and contemporary themes
Amodio De Martino's works, made entirely of olive wood, explore a range of contemporary themes including emigration, pandemics and ecology. After retirement, De Martino intensified his commitment to sculpture, participating in significant cultural events. His works have been exhibited in various cultural events, such as the "Giornata del Contemporaneo" of AMACI and the "Rassegna ART FESTIVAL EBOLI". A particular recognition came with the second place at the XXIV Edition of the National Competition of Nativity Scene Art of Pesche, where De Martino presented a nativity scene dedicated to Pope Francis.
Interventions and participations
Institutional figures such as the director of the museum Ilaria Menale, the mayor Mario Conte and the councilor for culture Lucilla Polito will attend the inauguration. The presentation of the catalogue and the works will be curated by the art historian Antonella Nigro, the writer Maria Rosaria Pagnani and the musicologist Luigi Nobile. The event will be enriched by moments of acting and music, with the actress Biancarosa Di Ruocco and the Choir “I Cantori di San Lorenzo” directed by Maestro Alfonso Fiorelli.
The exhibition will be accessible until March 16, 2025 during the museum's opening hours. Participation in the event is free and does not require a reservation; admission is included in the museum ticket, which costs €5,00 for the full price, €2,00 for the reduced price, and is free for children under 18.

The opening of the exhibition seems interesting, but I don't know if I will go. Amodio De Martino's works are well made and the themes are current. I hope that many people will attend.
