Fire in Scampia: aa fire in a wood depot

A fire of considerable proportions affected a wood warehouse located in the Scampia neighborhood of Naples, creating an emergency situation for the air quality, which became unbreathable over a large area.

The fire broke out in Via Roma, near the well-known Vele structures, generating a dense, dark column of smoke, visible from afar.

The Fire Brigade, who arrived promptly on the scene with several units, are working to put out the flames and limit further damage.

The extinguishing operations are underway, and only once completed will it be possible to proceed with the necessary investigations to determine the cause of the fire, currently still unknown.
