The winner of the “Lunezia Award for Sanremo 2025” was officially unveiled by RaiRadio1 within the program "Streaming" hosted by Savino Zaba: here is now the press release that motivates the choice a few days before the start of the Sanremo Festival.
Stephen DeMartino, Patron of the event launched 30 years ago by Fernanda Pivano and Fabrizio De André, motivates the indication of the Lunezia Award Commission. A choice this year debated between three candidates: Brunori Sas, Simone Cristicchi e Joan Thiele. Finally the white smoke arrived.
The "Lunezia Award for Sanremo 2025" will Simone Cristicchi for the song “When you’re little.” “In the commitment of a single choice we indicate the work of Simone Cristicchi – states the Owner Stefano De Martino – a humanitarian and family topic that no one had ever thought of for a song, an emotional elaboration between past and present of the son-mother feeling. Emotion announced with the musical atmospheres of Simone Cristicchi”, concludes the Patron.
These words are followed by the motivation of the music critic Dario Salvatori (member of the Lunezia Award Commission): “A mother who becomes a child again. Life reverses roles and great transformations are therapeutic and life-giving. A universal theme, Simone Cristicchi is committed to proposing reflections that penetrate and excite”.
In addition to the Patron Stefano De Martino, the members of the Lunezia Prize 2025 Commission are Giuseppe Anastasi, Riccardo Benini, Roberto Benvenuto, Loredana D'Anghera, Stefano Ferro, Vincenzo Incenzo, Mariella Nava, Selene Pascasi, Marina Pratici, Alessandro Quarta, Dario Salvatori, Lorenzo Varese, Savino Zaba. 30 edition of the Lunezia Award (Moon Festival) will take place on several dates in the summer/autumn 2025 period in various national stages.
In recent editions the Lunezia Award has been sponsored by Ministry of Culture, The Tuscan Regional Authority, Liguria Region, Italian National Singers e Yes.
