Simona and Santo Romano's shoe: "I even sleep with it, I can't part with it"

Simona Capone, the 17-year-old girlfriend of Santo Romano, the 19-year-old footballer killed last year in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, demands that "whoever made the mistake pay, even if they are minors."

He did so yesterday on the sidelines of the first hearing in the trial against the young murderer, which was held before the Juvenile Court. And he did so while holding Santo 's shoe . "I sleep with this shoe: I can't part with it. It's the first time I've worn it in public in a while because it's something holy on such an important day," he said.

And then he added: "I hope that justice can deploy everything it has at its disposal to protect us, the family and all the kids who go out at night. There is still too much crime around that needs to be fought. Justice is there, it responds and punishes those who commit such serious crimes".
