The Carabinieri of the Naples Bagnoli Company, with the support of the Labor Inspectorate and the staff of the ASL Naples, conducted an extraordinary control operation in the heart of the Posillipo and Mergellina neighborhoods, focusing in particular on the restaurants overlooking the seafront.

During the checks, three restaurants located in Via Caracciolo, known for its panoramic view of the Gulf of Naples, were inspected. In one of the premises, the military seized approximately 250 kg of food stored in inadequate hygienic-sanitary conditions, ordering the immediate suspension of the laboratory activity.
Fines totalling 2.500 euros were imposed and a worker irregular, whose position is now being examined by the competent authorities.
Another restaurant was fined €2.000 for using equipment that did not comply with health regulations, while a third restaurant only received prescriptions without fines.
Road checks and seizures
The operation also involved road checks, which led to the imposition of 8 fines for a total amount of over 12.000 euros and the administrative seizure of 2 vehicles. Overall, 41 people were identified.
The intervention of Carabinieri, in collaboration with the ASL and the Labor Inspectorate, confirms the authorities' commitment to combating the phenomenon of undeclared work and ensuring compliance with health and hygiene regulations, especially in a tourist area like Mergellina and Posillipo, the beating heart of Neapolitan nightlife.
