The sonic elegance of the Cesi Marciano Ensemble meets the narrative voice of Paolo Cresta in Ciro Gentile's show. There is an expectation full of suggestion and curiosity for Saturday 12 April at 21 pm, when the curtain of the Teatro Salvo D'Acquisto in via Morghen al Vomero will rise to welcome “Arkan ei pulcini”, a refined musical show destined to thrill and surprise.
Article Key Points
Organized and promoted by Giuseppe Errico, the event represents one of those rare occasions in which music, words and storytelling merge into a single scenic experience, capable of speaking to the soul of the spectator.
The meeting of languages
The absolute protagonists of the evening will be the 14 musicians of the Cesi Marciano Ensemble, guided by the creative talent and artistic sensitivity of maestro Ciro Gentile, author not only of the music but also of the text that constitutes the narrative backbone. Giving voice to the story, between sound atmospheres and emotional pictures, will be the intense interpretation of Paolo Cresta, an actor of great versatility, capable of conveying nuances and suggestions with a narration that intertwines with the melodic textures of the ensemble.
An artistic evolution
Neapolitan, guitarist, composer, author and writer, Ciro Gentile has been carrying out, for years now, a musical research that is also poetic exploration. With “Arkan ei pulcini” he bears witness to an artistic evolution that began in 2002 with the Cesi Marciano Ensemble: a project that has been able to break traditional patterns, pushing the classical guitar – always the solo instrument par excellence – towards new, contaminated and dialoguing territories.
A sound fresco
It is precisely in this meeting of different languages - jazz, ethnic, chamber music - that the show comes to life: a sound fresco where jazz orchestrations build a fascinating bridge between the guitar and the rest of the instruments. The result is a musical narration that is a journey, a dream, an emotion. Gentile's music, never banal, full of colors and suggestions, is linked to the literary passages recited by Cresta, creating a scenic architecture made of harmonies, pauses, words and images. "Arkan ei pulcini" thus becomes much more than a simple concert: it is a story for sounds and voice, a suspended dream, capable of transporting the audience to an imaginative and profound elsewhere. An evening, at the Teatro Salvo D'Acquisto, that promises to be an unmissable event for lovers of live music, for those who still believe in the evocative power of the word and for those who know how to let themselves be transported by the secret beat of emotions.

It's interesting how Ciro Gentile combined different musical styles in his new show. But I don't know if Paolo Cresta's voice is suitable for this type of story, let's hope for the best on Saturday.
