This position was shared with Adnkronos by the director of the Consorzio Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Paolo Solini, and by the vice president Susanna Crociani, during the last edition of Vinitaly in Verona.
Focus on Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
"The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is an area that produces about 10 million bottles of wine, about 80% of which is exported, so it is very representative. Germany is the main importer, followed by the United States, which is an important country in which the consortium and companies have been investing a lot of resources for about ten years with excellent results", declared the director Solini.
He also added that “35% of exports and about 20% of the total Vino Nobile is sold in the USA. Therefore this situation – the international developments on duties – is taken into maximum consideration and creates a bit of apprehension for producers, but we are confident that this gap can be overcome”.
