Naples – A new, dramatic story of gender violence is unfolding between Casoria and Scampia, where a man already under house arrest for stalking attempted a punitive raid against his wife, armed with a baseball bat.

A history of violence and arrest for stalking
The man, a 40-year-old from Casoria, had been placed under house arrest on April 5th as part of a measure “code red”, issued for stalking and mistreatment against another woman, with whom he had had an extramarital relationship.
His new partner reported him, leading to his arrest. But instead of respecting the precautionary measures, the man decided to take it out on his wife.
The Night of Threats: “I’ll Open Your Head”
On the evening of April 7, the 40-year-old began bombarding his wife, a 42-year-old from Scampia, with calls and messages, loudly demanding to see their son. The woman, who had already suffered physical violence in the past (never reported, despite the bruises aggravated by her condition of thalassemia), refused: the child was sleeping and she didn't want to take any risks.
At that point, the situation degenerated. During a video call, the man shouted: “If you don’t bring me the child, I’ll come and cut your head open!”. Terrified, the woman hung up, while her husband, clearly agitated, he escaped from his home and headed toward his house. Fortunately, he couldn't get in and left.
The denunciation and the destructive madness
The next morning, the victim found the courage to go to the Carabinieri of Scampia to report the threats. Just as he was in the barracks, the man was notified of the appearance for the preliminary hearing relating to the arrest on April 5. A news that made him furious.
Armed with a baseball bat, the 40-year-old returned to his wife's house, unaware that she was already under the protection of the police. Not finding her, he vented his anger destroying the intercom e damaging the car of the woman, and then flee.
The arrest and the discovery of the weapon
