Pagani – Drug trafficking hit in the Agro nocerino-sarnese. The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Salerno have executed 14 precautionary measures issued by the investigating judge at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, as part of an investigation that has dismantled an armed group dedicated to drug dealing, linked to the Fezza-De Vivo clan, active in the Pagani area and surrounding municipalities.
The investigation, launched following the capture of the fugitive Daniel Confessor and the seizure of 13 kilos of narcotics, has allowed us to reconstruct a structured and branched criminal organization, specialized in the trafficking and sale of hashish and cocaine. The charges brought against the suspects also include personal aiding and abetting, extortion, money laundering and self-laundering.
The analysis of several seized cell phones was crucial to the investigation, allowing investigators to reconstruct a dense network of contacts, operational strategies and drug movements.
After the capture of Confessore and the seizure of the cargo, the group immediately changed its logistics methods, identifying new storage locations and modifying supply and transport routes.
Also disconcerting is what emerged about the drug dealing dynamics inside the Salerno-Fuorni prison: one of the suspects allegedly received requests for drugs directly from prison to then resell them to other inmates.
The proceeds of the illicit trafficking were partly reinvested in commercial activities in front. In particular, the investigators seized a business selling salt and tobacco, considered a tool for laundering dirty money. Cash and movable and immovable assets with an overall estimated value of around 130 thousand euros were also seized.
Today's operations represent a severe blow to the Fezza-De Vivo clan and confirm the dangerousness and adaptability of the criminal organizations rooted in the territory. The investigations continue to ascertain further responsibilities and connections.
