Santa Maria Capua Vetere – The trial against Olga Kharin, 46, a Ukrainian citizen who has long lived in the Campania city, where she works as a beautician, continues before Judge Valerio Riello of the Third Criminal Section of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
The defendant, defended by the lawyer Vincenzo Anastasio, is accused of aggravated damage for having targeted the car of the ex-wife of her current partner, a carabiniere.
According to the prosecution, Kharin allegedly hit the vehicle with a plaster statue of the Madonna, then threw a large rock that shattered the rear window.
The dynamics of the alleged crime
The facts date back to mid-January of last year, in Sant'Angelo in Formis, when Kharin was at her partner's house. The victim, CR, the soldier's ex-wife, had parked the car on the road in front of her home, leaving it exposed to public view.
According to what has emerged, the gesture would have been dictated by reasons of jealousy. The injured party, who joined the civil action with the lawyers Raffaele Gaetano Crisileo and Gaetano Crisileo, reported the facts to the Carabinieri Station of Capua, which, on behalf of the Public Prosecutor Albenzio Ricciardiello, started the investigations.
During the investigation, videos shot with a smartphone were seized that would show the scene of the damage. In addition, among the witnesses interviewed there is also the victim's ex-husband, who confirmed that he had noticed glass fragments near the car after the episode.
The trial, therefore, continues with the examination of evidence and witnesses, while the defense works to exonerate the defendant from the charges. Next hearing expected to evaluate the developments of the case.
