Nanpoli – Graded Holding srl has filed an appeal to block the transfer of shares of the Naples Basket to the American company NAPOLI Basketball USA LLC, based in Wilmington (Delaware).
The Neapolitan holding company accuses the other two partners of having violated the right of pre-emption, even though it had been regularly exercised.
The goal is clear: to defend the second most beloved team in the city, back in vogue after almost twenty years of absence. A project born in Serie B and brought to Serie A, where the Campania team has been playing for four seasons, also winning an Italian Cup.
“All this – we read in the note – was possible only thanks to the commitment of local entrepreneurs, ready to continue the challenge. People who, in order to maintain the Neapolitan character of the company, presented an offer 20% higher than the American one”.
An appeal to the city: "Rather than giving in to external parties, it is possible to move forward with local protagonists, in line with the growth of an increasingly globally competitive Naples. A city that, even in sports, is demonstrating its value, as demonstrated by the assignment of the America's Cup and the title of World Capital of Sport 2026".
Now the ball is in the courts' court, while the team risks ending up in the hands of the USA.
