Naples: A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Soccavo after threatening to set fire to his mother's house.

Fear and violence erupted within the confines of an apartment in Soccavo , a western neighborhood of Naples. Carabinieri from the Rione Traiano station arrested a 30-year-old local man for domestic abuse, following yet another incident of threats against his mother.

Since July, the woman had been living in a state of terror, harassed by her drug-addicted son's constant demands for money and outbursts of rage. The latest incident occurred yesterday, when the man threatened to set her house on fire. The victim, desperate but lucid, filmed the scene and the threatening words on her cell phone, then rushed to the police to report the incident.

The military's investigations quickly located the 30-year-old, who was carrying a sharp-bladed box cutter at the time of his arrest. The man was arrested and taken to prison, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
