Two arrests for thefts in shopping center parking lots
Caserta – Thefts from cars parked in shopping centers: Two Neapolitans under house arrest.
Cars stolen while their owners were out shopping: an investigation by the Naples and Caserta traffic police led the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Court to issue a precautionary measure against two men from the Neapolitan hinterland, who were placed under house arrest.
According to investigators' reconstruction, the two identified the victims among the drivers who had just gotten out of their cars and used a jammer, an electronic device capable of interfering with the car's remote control and preventing it from locking.
At that point, while one of the two kept an eye on the owner's movements, the other would have taken possession of the valuables left inside the vehicle.
Subsequent investigations led to the identification of the alleged perpetrators, and the investigating judge of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Court, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, ordered house arrest for both.
