

Jealous man shoots his ex's new boyfriend
Tragedy narrowly avoided and investigations underway in Parete, in the province of Caserta, where a drama arose from the jealousy It turned into a bloody ordeal. Late yesterday evening, a 60-year-old man attempted to kill his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend by firing a shotgun at him.
According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction of the incident, the attacker approached the location of his ex-partner, a 28-year-old woman, accompanied by her current boyfriend, a 59-year-old man of Tunisian origin. Upon seeing the couple, the sixty-year-old man grabbed his rifle and opened fire directly at his rival. Fortunately, the woman escaped her ex-partner's fury unharmed, while the 59-year-old was hit by the pellets, suffering devastating injuries.
The alarm was raised immediately, bringing the 118 paramedics to the scene and Carabinieri from the local station. The injured man was stabilized and rushed to the San Giuseppe Moscati Hospital in Aversa. Arriving at the emergency room in critical condition, the man underwent delicate surgery. His condition remains extremely serious at this time, and doctors have not yet given a definitive prognosis, deeming his life in imminent danger.
The investigative team moved extremely quickly to secure the crime scene and bring the perpetrator to justice. The Carabinieri of the Parete Station, with the support of the Operations and Radiomobile Unit of the Aversa Company, launched a manhunt that concluded shortly thereafter with the tracking and arrest of the attacker.
During the operations, the officers conducted personal, vehicle, and home searches. This activity resulted in the seizure of cell phones, clothing, and other items deemed crucial to reconstructing the crime. Specific tests, such as stub examination, were also performed on the alleged shooter to determine the presence of gunpowder residue on his hands and clothing.
Given the evidence gathered immediately after the incident, the 60-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto on the very serious charge of attempted murder. After the usual formalities, the man was transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where he will be held at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
