Naples: Arenella's motorcyclist drug dealer arrested

Naples – A cash exchange and a small bag exchanged in a matter of seconds, standing next to a car. This is the scene that prompted the intervention of the Carabinieri of the Naples Vomero company's operational unit , who were conducting a patrol in the Arenella neighborhood.

Officers were combing the streets in the area when, on Via Giacinto Gigante, they noticed a 42-year-old man standing next to his car, with the typical attitude of someone waiting for someone. Moments later, a 31-year-old man arrived on a motorcycle: the two approached and the exchange took place.

The Carabinieri intervened immediately, arresting both the dealer and the buyer. The baggie just sold contained cocaine. The subsequent search revealed the 31-year-old—identified as Antonio Paesano, already known to law enforcement—in possession of five additional doses of the same substance, already packaged and ready for sale, and €30 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity.

The 42-year-old buyer was reported to the Prefecture. Paesano was arrested on charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and is currently under house arrest, awaiting trial. The Carabinieri are continuing their investigation to track down his suppliers and customer base and determine who he was dealing on behalf of.
